The amount allocated
With Resolution No. 690 of July 7, 2026, the Veneto Regional Council allocated resources to compensate for damage caused by wild fauna to agriculture in areas subject to planned hunting management for the year 2026. This measure complements the annual programming established by the agreement between the Region and the Veneto Payments Agency (AVEPA), complementing the calls for proposals already approved previously for damage prevention and aquaculture. The sum allocated for this specific line of intervention totals €435.000,00 from the dedicated regional budget section.
Contribution rates
The funds are intended to cover compensation claims for damages occurring between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026. The processing, granting, and payment of contributions are entrusted to AVEPA. The maximum applicable contribution rates provide for coverage of 90% of the estimated damage for amounts up to €2.500,00 and 60% for amounts exceeding this threshold, up to an overall maximum limit of €50.000,00 per beneficiary, in accordance with European legislation on the "de minimis" regime in agriculture. If the amount of eligible claims exceeds the allocation, the amounts due may be reduced proportionately.
Any unused savings
Any unused savings from previous financial years may be added to the currently allocated amount, as well as any additional funds that may become available as a result of future budget changes during 2026. The Forestry, Wildlife Planning and Management Directorate is responsible for implementing the act and for subsequent financial transfers to AVEPA (source: Coldiretti Verona).
