La Council of the Veneto is thinking of creating a regional surveillance service that could bring together provincial guards and inspectors in a single body, organized by the Region itself. In this way, various activities could be entrusted, namely those of supervision and control in the environmental field, hunting, agro-food and wildlife. The bill was approved in the last session after the proposal of Joseph Pan, Councilor for Agriculture, with the vice president Gianluca Forcolin.
The norm was sent to the permanent conference of local autonomies and to the Regional Council. The Veneto Region had to enhance the professionalism and skills of the Provincial Police agents and therefore this solution was thought of. The goal is to plan the supervision and the as well as possible hunting, fish and environmental control throughout the region.
The specific duties of these future agents include the monitoring of agricultural markets, the use of products and pesticides in crops and the surveillance of quarries and mining activities. The establishment of the new regional service will take place at no cost.
