The Veneto Regional Council has decided that the Provinces themselves should regulate the selection hunting of ungulates.
In its last session, the Veneto Regional Council, accepting the proposal of the councilor for hunting Daniele Stival, proposed that also for the next hunting season 2012-2013 the Provinces should regulate the selection hunting of ungulates of the roe deer, chamois species. , deer, fallow deer and mouflon in the territories of their competence included in the Faunal Area of the Alps.
With the same resolution, the Venetian council established, in the part concerning the procedures for preparing and distributing regional hunting cards, that the documentation issued by the Provinces to authorized hunters for the registration of exits and killing have the same legal value as the card.
Councilor Stival affirmed "Also in this case we respect the regulations in force, which provide for the possibility for the Regions to regulate the selection of ungulates on the basis of adequate selective plans, distinguished by sex and age groups".
“In this way - Stival continues explaining - the right balance is guaranteed between the need to safeguard the species and the environment and the exercise of hunting. For some time now, as Veneto we have delegated this activity to the Provinces and the results have been positive. It is therefore appropriate to continue on this path ”.
