Special attention
The Veneto Regional Council has given the green light to the distribution of 2026 funding for the Provinces and the Metropolitan City of Venice: among the measures approved, specific attention has been paid to Province of Belluno, which will receive €80.000 for hunting and fishing. These resources, an increase over those allocated in previous years, are intended to support the increased responsibilities assigned to Belluno by regional legislation, taking into account the unique characteristics of its mountainous territory. The overall measure allocates €1,28 million to the Veneto provinces, €1,2 million of which will be allocated to non-essential functions, with priority given to Civil Protection, and a specific additional amount dedicated to the Province of Belluno for its delegated responsibilities in hunting and fishing.
Councillor Bond's words
"This is a clear and concrete signal," said Dario Bond, Regional Councilor for Mountains, Hunting, and Fishing. "Belluno has unique characteristics and requires appropriate tools to effectively manage its wildlife and fisheries. The functions assigned to the Province require greater commitment than other areas, both in terms of management and control. With these resources, we want to ensure operational continuity and quality of administrative action."
A recognition of specificity
"We're talking," the councilor adds, "about fundamental activities that affect the balance of the ecosystem, the safety and enhancement of natural resources. In mountainous areas, wildlife, hunting, and fisheries management is particularly delicate and strategic. This funding therefore represents recognition of Belluno's uniqueness, strengthening the role of local authorities and ensuring concrete responses to the communities' needs."
