Incident of Hunting in the Pisan area. He made a flight of about four meters and when he fell he suffered serious injuries; Thus began the day, Sunday 16 October, for a 58-year-old hunter from Palaia.
The accident occurred in the Berignone forest in Volterra, in the Dispensa area, a hilly area almost on the border with the municipality of Pomarance; the hunter fell as he was reaching the shed for the wood pigeon hunting which he had built himself on a tree among the dense vegetation.
Others hunters in the area they immediately raised the alarm calling for help but they had serious difficulties in reaching the scene of the accident; following the request for help, in fact, the 118 Central activated the ambulances closest to the area in question and a Pegaso helicopter that took off from Volterra and arrived in Valdicecina.
Only thanks to the guidance of hunting companions did the rescuers manage to reach the accident site after walking for about two kilometers in the bush; once he reached the wounded man, the 118 men gave him first aid while the hunters cut the branches of some plants in order to facilitate the intervention and to allow the wounded person to be loaded directly onto the ambulance even with the intervention of the mountain rescue .
After a few hours the wounded hunter was transported to Valdicecina from the Valdera, loaded with a winch onto the ambulance which then proceeded to transport him to the emergency room of the Careggi hospital where he was then hospitalized for appropriate treatment; man is not in danger of life.
