One of the most awaited moments
Between Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th March the Italian clay pigeon shooting The FITAV Winter Championships, held in Rome, experienced one of the most anticipated moments of the season with the Finals of the Winter Club Championships for the two Olympic disciplines of Trap and Skeet, events that put all the major federal competitions for the cold season to rest. Athletes, coaches, managers, and enthusiasts from all over Italy took to the fields for two days (Sunday only for Skeet) filled with healthy competition, technical comparisons, passion, and regional pride, confirming how the competition between the different national club teams continues to be a key aspect of the entire FITAV season.
The athletes involved
What made this 2026 edition even more significant were the numbers. A total of 484 shooters participated in the two competitions, representing 74 teams from every region of Italy, in Olympic Trap and Skeet. This broad, well-distributed participation, with high technical quality, testifies to the vitality of the sport and the value of winter circuits as a platform for competition, growth, and consolidation of sports teams.
A unique passion
The finals offered a clear, and for the most part complete, picture of the technical prowess and passion that Italian clay pigeon shooting is capable of spreading, not only at the club level. These events especially rewarded the teams' unity, organization, and ability to approach the decisive moments with a cool head and a dose of competitive spirit. From the platforms of Tav Falco (CE), the host club of the Winter Skeet Championship, to Tav Vetralla (VT), Raimondo (CE), Sant'Uberto (PE), and Nicola Caramia (BR) for Olympic Trap, the weekend provided images of great sport and a genuine sense of belonging to the Federation (source: FITAV).
