“Unlucky” hunting day
This isn't the first time it's happened, and it probably won't be the last. A story from the Rieti province has unfortunately been reported regularly over the years, and it has to do with hunting: a rifle left on the roof of a car and lost after a fall.omitted custody This time, the perpetrator was a 66-year-old man from Amatrice. The man ended his hunting day in the worst possible way, "earning" a criminal complaint while at liberty.
Report of loss
It all happened when the hunter returned home. The man realized he no longer had the 12-gauge shotgun he had just fired, which prompted him to report it missing at the nearest Carabinieri station. The officers' investigations unraveled the mystery and filed a complaint for failure to store the weapon.
Potential Risks
This is an all-too-common situation; local newspapers frequently report similar cases every year. The distraction also forced the Carabinieri to enter the weapon's information into law enforcement databases to speed up the recovery and prevent criminals from stealing the rifle.
