Quantity and quality
August was a memorable month for the Abruzzo local clay pigeon shooting movement . Not only for the number of events held, but also for the participation and engagement at regional competitions, the organizational quality of the participating clubs, and the results achieved by athletes, including at national-level events. Significant numbers, crowded ranges, and a passion that attracted shooters of all ages accompanied the various competitions hosted throughout the region. The Acquaviva (TE) high-speed rail network kicked things off, taking center stage during the first weekend of August with the "1st Valentino Pallini Day," an event that drew over 180 participants to the competition grounds.
Iezzi Memorial
From August 21st to 23rd, it was the turn of the TAV Sant'Uberto (PE), which hosted the fifth annual Carmine Iezzi Memorial, attracting over 280 shooters. This was a significant achievement from a sporting perspective, but even more significant for the human and emotional value that underpins the event. Both events, in fact, were conceived with the intention of going beyond simple competitive competition. Valentino Pallini and Carmine Iezzi were remembered for what best represented them: their passion for clay shooting, respect for their opponents, daily commitment, and above all, the pleasure of sharing days on the range with friends.
Abruzzo Cup 2026
On the same weekend, from August 21st to 23rd, TAV Il Lago (TE) also hosted the final round of the 2026 Coppa Abruzzo, a circuit that has seen growing participation throughout the season. This event was made possible thanks in part to the tireless commitment of club president Primo Gasparretti, a longtime leader in regional shooting. To further enhance August's success, a prestigious achievement outside the region arrived. Giuseppe Gasparretti, representing TAV Il Lago, won on the TAV Umbriaverde-Todi (PG) platforms in the 18th edition of the Memorial Nando Rossi, adding another important success to the season following his victory in the First Category Interregional Grand Prix (source: FITAV).
