Dog trafficking abroad: let's be clear - Acl Onlus press release -
Once again, infamous accusations against ACL Onlus, an association whose activity in favor of animals clearly disturbs, as it harms economic interests and established lobbies, from environments close to breeders and kennel managers.
According to a news reported by The Journal of Rieti and disseminated by some Internet sites, the MEP of the PDL Sergio Berlato - known for his positions in favor of hunting and against animal rights and environmentalists - would have filed a complaint with the Public Prosecutors of Bologna and Trento concerning a "Illegal and clandestine trafficking of stray dogs from Italy to abroad, also managed by animal welfare associations that do business on this. With threats and intimidation, in some cases physical, to those who try to unmask a business that has a turnover "of about 40 million a year"." The lawyer Bacillieri di Bologna, as far as we know Federfauna's trusted lawyer, who already last year earned a complaint for defamation by our company. Association, would also have stated during a press conference held on 10 June 2010 that the ACL Onlus "has signed a protocol with the ASL of Rieti, with Tecnovett, the kennel management company, two other breeding farms and a German association, to "promote distance adoptions". Except that, as happens to other "kennels in central and southern Italy, the animals are sent abroad and, once out, the puppies disappear or are directed to vivisection or experimentation on living beings". In other cases they must simply be resold, "because in Germany a half-breed taken from a kennel has a price". One of the effects is that when a citizen who had adopted an animal goes to see it in person, he finds no trace of it. " The ACL Onlus announces that it is completely unrelated to the facts reported and, above all, that she has never been involved in situations of threats or violence against anyone.
The statements by the lawyer Bacillieri, if actually pronounced, are absolutely false and for this reason the ACL Onlus has given a mandate to its lawyers to protect the Association's activities at all competent offices. The adoptions of ACL Onlus were carried out according to the legal procedures and with methods that guarantee the best welfare of the animals involved.
The attempt to involve the Association in these events appears, among other things, to be yet another attempt to hit the Undersecretary of Health Francesca Martini, hated by hunters and kennel managers, discrediting the associations that collaborate with it through the provision of consultancy free in order to put an end to the age-old problem of strays. The ACL Onlus therefore warns anyone from spreading unfounded accusations against it, warning that it has mandated its lawyers to take legal action against the author of the false declarations as well as against anyone who contributes to their dissemination..
