Satellite telemetry
The ACMA (Association of Aquatic Migratory Hunters) has published a very interesting note on the own activities: “We promised you some news and here they are. The search for snipe using satellite telemetry has reached a turning point.
Research to be explored
“Thanks to the passion and curiosity of you who follow us, we have decided over the years to carry on the search for this splendid animal. From this year, for the first time ever in Italy, we will have the opportunity to follow the snipe throughout its future life. In fact, we have equipped this individual (three more in the near future) with a solar-powered transmitter which, with a little luck, will allow us to follow him for a long time, potentially even more than a year".
Great confidence
“This type of pioneering technology is in its infancy in the development of such miniaturized devices, which is why there are and will be technical problems, but we are confident that everything will go well. Follow us and cross your fingers” (source: ACMA).
