The weakness of regional policy
In whose hands have the fate of hunting in Veneto been placed? While the animal-environmentalist world launches yet another attack on hunting world of Veneto, mainly targeting migratory hunters, the Veneto regional council, instead of taking their defense, stabs them in the back. How else should we interpret the circulars that the Venetian bureaucracy is churning out to the detriment of the hunters of the Veneto? Probably regional politics is so weak that it does not want to take responsibility for some choices or more simply it wants to seek consensus from both hunters and animal conservationists.
In league with the enemy
The fact is that some bureaucrats are sent in advance who either do not know the matter they are called to deal with, or are in cahoots with the enemy. Do we want to talk, for example, about the circular with which the Veneto Region contradicts itself after having approved law 20/2015 on stakeouts for hunting purposes? Or do we want to talk about the circular that prohibits hunters in free territory from using their own live decoys, unless they leave their decoy ducks abandoned on hunting stands for the entire hunting season without being able to move them?
A servile silence
In this whole situation, politics is silent, as are shamefully silent those hunting managers who are afraid of disturbing their political friend, perhaps hoping to receive, in exchange for servile silence, some bones to gnaw (Association for Rural Culture, Confederation of Italian Hunting Associations , Venetian Hunters Association, Foundation for Rural Culture).
