The ACR Onlus, Association for the Defense and Promotion of Rural Culture, is also rooted in Lazio.
The new regional referent is Dr. Alessandro Pani, former founder and President of Wetland Italy, the Association for the Conservation and Restoration of Wetlands. ACR, explains the new referent, "intends to spur the political class to face the numerous problems that have never been resolved that afflict the rural world of Lazio and which until now have been dealt with solely to satisfy the animal-environmentalist lobbies of the city, favoring personal positions rather than a real one. conservation and protection of the environment.
In ten years of regional government in which all parties have alternated at the helm of the Lazio region, the system of parks and nature reserves has grown dramatically, orienting public spending to the detriment of the agricultural world and transforming the government of the territory into a formidable personal business for a few executives often linked to environmental associations. Very few economic resources have been invested for the conservation of the territory and rivers of public money have vanished in initiatives as extravagant as they are useless.
In this climate also the serious problem of opportunistic animals arose, boar in primis, but also otters, foxes, corvids etc; problem never solved, obviously to the detriment of rural activities and residents, as the city's animal-environmentalist associations, with their "no a priori", have always prevented a correct and reasonable containment. "
Since 2010, continues Pani, “we have witnessed a turnaround in which the Polverini council has commissioned numerous parks; following this, some of them have begun to train selecontrollers to entrust the control of opportunistic species to authorized and expert people. With this practical and effective system, the problem has been transformed into an economic resource, in contrast with the policies of the past in which unbridled poaching was the best ally of the old management, in a disturbing union bordering on connivance. "
But this is not enough, continues Pani, "the spending review by the Monti government today requires a 20% cut in park authorities and the devastating debt of the Lazio region also requires that we no longer have to pay one million euros for damage to agricultural crops and eliminate all those entities that in the final analysis have not "produced" the environment, have created serious problems in the rural world with their animalist blindness and have not been efficient in combating illegal building and insane use of the territory.
In this context, the Association for the Defense and Promotion of Rural Culture - Onlus intends to call together all the forces that make it up to inaugurate a new environmental policy finally formed by those who live in the territory and work and amuse themselves in it. , in which even the hunting world, essential for a correct protection of the environment, has a say in the matter. Only in this way will it be possible to combine conservation with the agricultural economy. "
