Activated on the whole Calabrian territory the service of collection, transport and disposal of the carcasses of ungulates killed with both selection and hunting activities, which are positive for various diseases including Tbc, trichinella, African swine fever. He makes it known the Regional Department of Agriculture, led by Gianluca Gallo. "The activation of this service - explains Councilor Gallo - is fundamental from the point of view of safety and represents a new, further step in the path undertaken by the Council and the Department to stem the ungulate emergency".
The initiative, coordinated by the Sector "Special waste management services", had been planned in the past weeks, during the work of the Regional Faunal Council, with the commitment of the Department to guarantee concrete support for the precious work of the selectors, now put in a position to be able to carry out their work more quickly, considering that the killed items - in particular those affected by various pathologies - can be disposed of safely and quickly. “I want to underline - adds Gallo - that we have managed to achieve this result thanks to the effective collaboration between the hunting world, institutions, environmental associations and farmers”. The change of course from the past is evident.
"The disposal service - adds the Councilor - it will no longer be managed by the municipalities, which previously, on the basis of a specification of the Health Department, identified the areas where the carcasses of sick animals were to be buried. For the first time, now, within one hour of reporting, the company awarded the service will pick up the carcass and dispose of it, with great benefit also for the environment, as the land will be preserved from harmful waste. In short, a small, great revolution, while waiting for the Government to adopt the measures announced for some time to guarantee the Regions, on a legal level, the means to strengthen the activities of restraint the proliferation of ungulates ".
