The comments presented
Addressing the Councilor for Agriculture and Agri-Food, Hunting and Fishing Alessio Mammi, the Emilia Romagna Hunting Associations Federcaccia, Arcicaccia, Liberacaccia, Enalcaccia and Italcaccia presented some observations to resolution No. 1518 of 11/09/2023 for the adjustment of the 2023/24 regional hunting calendar.
Considerations and proposals
“With regard to the contents of the aforementioned resolution – we read in the letter sent to the department –, the Emiliano Romagnole Hunting Associations feel the duty and also take the opportunity to express some considerations and proposals:
– having taken note of the postponement of the opening of the sedentary hunt to October 1st, a date unequivocally imposed under a regime of excessive power by the TAR of Bologna, it is absolutely necessary, with an urgent act, to prolong the closure of the sedentary hunt in month of December. We have already verified Ispra's willingness to give a favorable opinion.
– maintaining the closing dates for migratory hunting in the month of January must be supported by further technical-scientific motivations, drawing on the material already sent by the Hunting Associations and involving qualified Scientific Institutes, starting from the competent Universities.
Offices to be strengthened
The absolute need to strengthen the regional technical offices, in terms of competence and human resources, was also found. In our opinion it is not possible to address topics such as the Hunting Calendar, the PFVR, the overall management of wild boar and Regulation 1, with a regional technical organization that is not adequately structured. A strengthening of the regional offices would also reduce procedural and communication bottlenecks and would also favor relationships with the hunting associations. While waiting to know the state of the art of the appeal to the Council of State on your part, we send our best regards" (source: FIDC).
