Piacenza brings to mind the continuation of the Po Valley that has just left Lombardy to extend into Emilia: this is the case if the area has been used as a transit point for those arriving from Turin using the A21 motorway. It is difficult to imagine, if you have not been there, as a few kilometers on the right hills rise and valleys of remarkable scenic beauty open up, dotted with ancient villages where time passes with measured cadence and the good trait of the people who live there has in the hospitality the peculiar character. A name for everyone: Rivergaro, so much to fix in the memory a destination combining it with Piacenza coppa, sublime specialty of the area where the butchery expresses its arcane charms celebrated with wines like Gutturnio and Ortrugo.
Precisely in these magical places there Montefeltro took up residence by creating a named AFV Rivergaro, an extension of a thousand hectares where the variety of vegetation, with several crops settled among woods and thickets, reveals itself as the kingdom of wildlife: the presence of streams, lakes and wetlands is the masterful touch to maintain the presence of wild animals. Environmental diversity favors the persistence of the species that can be hunted with shotgun and rifled barrel: the feather with pheasants, partridges, red and quail is placed under the emblem of pointing dog, not failing to raise the hare while looking for birds. For dog lovers there are special training areas with shooting open all year round. At other times a suitable series of roof terraces gives way to undermine the roe deer and the wild boar in silence.
La hunting house it is located in a quiet valley surrounded by greenery: in the eyes of a hunter, the structure is nothing short of fascinating with rooms, rooms and services perfectly suited to every need both to be at peace with oneself and to gather in moments of meeting. The entrance porch then turns out to be a privileged resting place after the hunting day: exchanging opinions with colleagues or meditating on successful strokes as well as on some mistakes, the body is refreshed and above all the spirit is recharged.
Magnificent then as you walk a couple of hundred meters and come out of the gate that delimits the property you are already in a profitable land for partridges and pheasants, not missing even one of the many roof terraces for hunting roe deer and wild boar. It should be noted that these ungulates are completely natural and free in their territory: the density is such that the probability of shooting is always very high.
Rivergaro it can be reached quickly with about an hour and a half of travel from Turin, Genoa and Bologna, an hour only from Milan and Brescia with the motorway exit at Piacenza Ovest to advance into the first offshoots of Val Trebbia.
A nod in closing, but to better highlight them, to the people who direct the AFV with Mrs. Marina Priora, soul of the Montefeltro at the headquarters, and Mr. Carlo Cazzaniga, the soul of the company in the area where his passion and his technical faunal knowledge make everything more enjoyable: class and elegance are distinctive characteristics that increase exponentially the pleasure of leading an expulsion in this beautiful and spectacular setting.
