As disclosed by the Abruzzo region, the local authority has entered into an agreement in Pescara with the Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (ISPRA) to have the right guidelines to draft the regional hunting ground plan. Dino Pepe, Councilor for Agricultural Policies, considers this convention very important both as regards the preparatory phase and for that linked to environmental procedures.
The plan is the fundamental tool for planning territorial activities from a wildlife and hunting point of view: the Abruzzo one has existed since 1992 and, despite some changes that have occurred over time, it has never been revised in an organic way. According to Pepe, the wildlife heritage has profoundly changed in these 25 years, especially if we think of ungulates, wild boars in the first place. The new Abruzzo plan is therefore considered a priority. The convention also contains other important provisions.
For example, there will be coordination of the working group for the preparation of the plan e support to create the SEA (Strategic Environmental Assessment) and the drafting of the wildlife vocation cards for ungulates, hares, gray partridges, pheasants, quails, woodcocks, rock partridges, larks, wolves and bears. In addition, there will be the elaboration of the addresses to be followed for species of managerial interest, the drafting of the cartography for the wildlife areas and the guidelines for the Territorial Areas of Hunting.
