Wildlife monitoring
The first memorandum of understanding in Lazio was officially signed between the Municipality of Fiumicino, managing body of the park and the Italian Hunting Federation, which provides 16 specialized operators, wildlife assistants responsible for the control and monitoring of wild fauna for the management of the Roman Coast Park area, where there is a high presence of species wild animals, in particular wild boars, which put public safety at risk, damage agricultural crops and create a high health emergency (PSA).
Spread of ASF
The Mayor of the Municipality of Fiumicino Mario Baccini and the entire Council, sensitive to the problems of the territory, to the problems linked to the spread of ASF, to the protection of pig farms present in the vicinity of the territory, in agreement with Federcaccia Lazio and the Section. Municipality of Fiumicino called "United and Vincenti", which provides qualified personnel, wants to implement all wildlife control procedures. A detailed timetable of the necessary actions will be organized shortly.
Biodiversity to be preserved
The agreement represents a significant step for the protection of natural heritage and the sustainable management of wildlife in the Park territory. Mayor Baccini declares that with this agreement we begin to preserve biodiversity and guarantee that future generations can enjoy the natural riches of the area. The agreement provides for measures to safeguard native species and the creation of an environment where the faunal riches of which some areas of the coastal territory are particularly rich can coexist harmoniously with man.
