Vegetarians? No way!
La African swine fever it doesn't make you sleep peacefully even when it comes to food. The Ministry of Health has triggered checks throughout Italy for the withdrawal of some salamis that arrived in our country from China and passed off as vegetarian. It would, in fact, be a soy version of the cured meat but the first health checks left everyone speechless.
The blockade of the Neapolitan ASL
In fact, in addition to containing chicken and pork, in the latter case it was also found to be positive for the ASF virus. The situation has been monitored since last December, that is, since the ASL Napoli 1 blocked the snacks arriving from the former celestial empire. Among other things, the label of these products is double, another detail that is not exactly reassuring.
Italian and Chinese
The label is in both Chinese and Italian: in the Asian version, it clearly refers to chicken and pork, while in our language it refers only to soy and other vegetarian ingredients. In the meantime, the extraordinary monitoring plan continues, in the hope that there will be less alarmist updates over the next few weeks.
