Prevention and management
The meeting convened by the Regional Vice President Stefania Saccardi in her capacity as Councilor for Agriculture and Hunting of the Tuscany Region and by Simone Bezzini, Regional Councilor for Health, was held yesterday in Florence, focusing on the emergency linked to PSA management and on the extraordinary measures of the PRIU. An important opportunity for discussion - also requested by our Association - for a useful and active involvement of the Tuscan hunting world, both in the prevention and in the possible management of a possible health emergency situation linked to ASF, in our Region.
Wild boar hunting
The meeting was attended by the Regional President of Federcaccia Toscana-UCT Marco Salvadori, together with the other representatives of the regional hunting associations, who, with numbers in hand, highlighted the fundamental contribution of the organized wild boar hunting teams both in achieving the numbers of collection set by the regional level plan for the species, and for the monitoring and control works of the territory in support of the responsible regional bodies.
The solution of the problem
“We must collaborate actively, as a Tuscan hunting team, in preventing and possibly managing a hypothetical state of emergency, being very careful in implementing the measures envisaged at national level to combat the emergency, to avoid friction and conflicts that would not be absolutely useful, if not actually counterproductive, to the solution of the problem". Salvadori declared during his speech. “I thank the Regional Vice President Stefania Saccardi and the Regional Councilor for Health Simone Bezzini, for their willingness to open a discussion on this very delicate topic” (The Fidc-Uct Secretariat).
