A particular motivation
Those who want to live well and stay healthy should stay away from their relatives. Our ancestors were right with this popular saying, but unfortunately, a citizen of Racalmuto (in the province of Agrigento) failed to convince the police with these very words. His family ties, in fact, led to the rejection of the man's hunting license renewal , all for a specific reason. Despite having renewed his gun license several times and having a clean criminal record, it was the crimes of some of his family members that made the decision to reject the request (the incident occurred in 2024).
Contraindicated subjects
Going into more detail, the relatives in question were deemed "unsuitable," especially one of them, who has a police record for a serious crime. The hunter was therefore forced to appeal, hoping for a ruling from the Regional Administrative Court (TAR). The administrative judges agreed with him, explaining that mere family ties are not sufficient to establish a person's unreliability. Furthermore, the Police Headquarters should have determined how these associations would have affected the man's behavior.
Adequate checks
These are the words of the man's lawyer after the ruling in his favor: " The assessment of possible misuse of weapons can also be based on probabilistic elements, but must be preceded by adequate checks. The ruling must also specify the circumstances that lead to the applicant being considered dangerous or unreliable ."
