A new "crusade" to attract attention: theAIDAA (Italian Association of Defense of Animals and Environment) and above all its president Lorenzo Croce they come back to talk about them with an official note that will surely cause discussion. After the complaint against the chef Carlo Cracco and a cooked pigeon during the Masterchef television broadcast, this time the association took it out on the priests who practice hunting.
According to this press release, priests especially prefer wild boar and pheasant hunting, while not despising hares and some birds. Also, the hunter priests would be found to a great extent in Piedmont, Veneto, Umbria, Tuscany and Emilia Romagna.
According to the AIDAA, shotguns are not an instrument of peace and love, consequently a letter was written addressed to no less than Papa Francesco to bring it to the attention of these priests and bishops who "they often and willingly participate in banquets in the rectory based on the corpses of killed animals". Croce invited the Holy Father to excommunicate priests who practice hunting, explaining how hunting is "in stark contrast to the principles of love dictated by Christianity".
