Courage and political coherence
Unfortunately, it happened again. And unfortunately it will happen again. This time, it was the councilor of the Umbria Region who faced with courage and political coherence a small group of increasingly rowdy and offensive anti-hunting agents. Manuela Puletti, guilty only of defending her reasons head-on as a pragmatic administrator who does not give in to the political blackmail of the most intolerant extremists and their uncivilized verbal violence.

The few words of councilor Puletti, written on her Facebook profile, explain very well the climate of hostility and level of incivility and intolerance reached: "This morning I faced a delegation of environmentalists from several regions, in Piazza Italia who were demonstrating against me and 'the Puletti amendment' which regulates the circulation of motor vehicles on paths, mule tracks or fire avenues. I chose to be there with my head held high, with courage, convinced that a solution can be found in the principle of coexistence, but above all convinced that neither hunters nor enduro riders are criminals, the difference is made by those, like me, who have chosen to be there in full principle of sharing and those who instead distinguished themselves with insults, threats and insults, SO MUCH AS TO HAVE TO LEAVE ESCORTED! Exasperated souls
While on my own behalf and on behalf of the entire Umbrian and national Libera Caccia I express the most lively and affectionate solidarity with the courageous policy, I feel the duty to urge the government to take suitable measures to prevent the fanaticism of a few from continuing to misinform, polluting the normal political dialectics of a region and a civil state. In fact, a campaign orchestrated in an incorrect and biased manner which manages, with complete impunity, to spread alarmist news without any foundation contributes to exasperating the minds of citizens and fueling the protests.
Criminalization of hunting
The most striking example of this ferocious and ruthless criminalization of hunting comes from reading a disgusting report published periodically by an animal rights and anti-gun association which, in this 2023-2024 season, passed off hunting accidents as "occurring in non-hunting environments". seven more deaths, victims of common homicides. This squalid and disgusting methodology has therefore managed to increase the 5 deaths that occurred during legal hunting activity (the lowest number ever!) up to 12. As long as this intolerable form of alarmist propaganda is allowed, I fear that serious and coherent politicians like Manuela Puletti - and together with her all of us hunters - will have enormous difficulties in asserting our legitimate and sacrosanct rights.
