Interesting days for the migration of the Song Thrush in this last week, from 8 to 14 October, when we can consider their presence in some areas, especially the plains and the medium hills, on Wednesday 10 and Friday 12, really positive. repeating itself on the following days of 13 and, after a light rain in the night, on Sunday 14 October.
In short, a consistent step in the norm, but constant and very interesting and of satisfaction for the sheds and for the "collection centers", in order to regularly distribute the supply of this species in the organizational programs, almost reaching the limits set by the regional resolution.
There was a slight movement of Larks, Frosoni and Lucarini, while we noticed - compared to previous years - a weakened presence of the Robin, as is now established in the annual alternations of each species. The presence of the Blackcap, which seems to be considered the “target” species of this period, has been very interesting so far, while the first Swallows appeared.
Absence, however, up to now, of the Blackbird of passage after a good local nesting. Let us hope that the weather conditions are favorable to allow a constant and fluent migration, as was also the case in the south of France for the Song Thrush on 10 and 11 October. Absence, also there, of the Merlo. We'll talk again.
