As reported byANUUMigrators, for the umpteenth time the analysis of spring migration has confirmed that the weather conditions are fundamental for the presence of ornithic species in Italy. However, winter was not winter in terms of temperatures, while the spring was characterized by unfavorable conditions. The first signs of summer, then, did not allow the winged fauna to nest in a quiet way, above all in the northern regions, primarily due to rather violent evening thunderstorms.
The association looked at the different species. Regarding the song thrush, its presence has been likened to an "apparition". Even the presence of the redwing has been reduced, a decline reported for some time as happened even in the case of Cesena. On the contrary, some positive notes have arrived siskin, brambling and finch: in particular, the latter was also very present during the nesting. The presence of the starling was judged "excellent" by the ANUU, without forgetting the encouraging one return of the lark in some areas.
Migrationists wanted to underline how the monitoring of huntable species it should not be limited to the hunting period, including the whole year. In fact, as stated in the final part of the press release, "Only through knowledge it is possible to acquire reliable and truthful data and not based only on the game bag or on popular hunting beliefs now outdated in the last decade, even if recorded in our historical background" .
