Hunt in Aosta. In recent days, the Valle Council approved with 25 votes in favor, 1 against (M5S) and 6 abstentions (Alpe and the UVP Director Gerandin), the bill amending the rules for the wildlife.
The reform of the hunting it is law. Yesterday evening the Valle Council approved with 25 votes in favor, 1 against (M5S) and 6 abstentions (Alpe and the Councilor of UVP Gerandin), the bill that modifies the rules for the protection and management of wildlife and for the discipline of hunting and the provisions on wildlife parks.
“The changes introduced in the regional law 64/1994 they are aimed at rationalizing current spending, promoting the hunting specificities of the Valle d'Aosta area, simplifying the procedures relating to the sanctioning system. As regards the reduction of expenditure, the obligation to review the regional wildlife-hunting plan for five years is eliminated, the number and allowances of the representatives of the Regional Wildlife Council have decreased, the daily hunting permit is introduced, in addition to the annual card, the share of the proceeds of the regional concession tax for the hunting exercise due to the Regional Committee for Hunting Management is halved (from 80% to 40%) in favor of the Regional Administration, in order to increase the fund intended for the compensation of damage done to farmers by wildlife ”recalled rapporteur David Follien.
Alpe brought an amendment to the Chamber. “We come to the end of an articulated path, started in 2014 and interrupted at the beginning of 2016 after the resignation of the representatives of a single constituency. - recalled Albert Chatrian of Alpe “As a group we tried to stimulate the debate with the majority, presenting an amendment that took into account 99% of the wishes that emerged during the work already carried out. Today we are reintroducing this amendment. We are talking about a sector that affects around 1.400 Valle d'Aosta people: they are people who have lost faith in the institutions ”.
I vote against the M5S which has always opposed hunting. “This law says in the premises that it wants to safeguard the fauna, but in fact it allows innocent animals to be killed for the sake of shooting. There are many reasons but above all others I must reiterate that today more than ever, it is unacceptable to kill for fun ”said Roberto Cognetta of the M5S.
For the Councilor for agriculture and natural resources, Renzo Testolin: “It was necessary to regulate hunting, which has changed a lot in the last twenty years, having to deal with the evolution of society and the environment. Technical standards have been introduced to obtain uniformity on the territory, not only of the chiefs, but also of the hunters. We tried to give concrete answers not only to hunters, but to all categories involved ”.
