ARCI HUNTING of the Province of Florence expresses its opposition to the management methods of wild boar hunting perpetuated for years by theATC 4 Florence north - Prato and which currently have, once again, shown the serious limits of efficiency. The problem must be faced with democratic methods that respect the regulations and the dignity of the people and with respect for consolidated situations if positive. It is not possible to arrive, a few days after the opening of the boar hunt, with serious administrative management uncertainties and with teams not yet well placed. ATC 4 always managed by a majority of the usual Hunting Association and where the only representative of the ARCI HUNTING has so far been completely snubbed.
We hope our new representative is given more consideration and respect. As we also hope that democratic and constructive dialogue will be sought with the other Hunting Associations present and operating in the area to achieve the common goal of good management of hunting and the environment. We are very concerned about the consequences that such management could have on the damage to agriculture. We reiterate again that the shape of the hunt, if done correctly, is the best method to contain the wild boar species.
We reconfirm that only with teams of wild boar hunting well structured and organized and with an adequate number of hunting members it is possible to have a real management of the assigned territory. Efficient teams with prompt problem management and effective in solving. Therefore we hope that, instead of decreasing, the minimum number of participants in battles should be increased to encourage mergers between teams and thus obtain the prefixed and desired management objective. Let's say again that, once and for all, ATC 4 must verify the mandatory need to review the size and boundaries of the districts, the criteria for assigning teams to them as well as the management regulations. All this with a necessary democratic confrontation between hunters, between the hunting associations and between these subjects and the agricultural world.
The damage to agriculture will have to be greatly reduced to a bearable minimum. The creation of disposable agricultural crops combined with environmental restorations could be one of the methods to keep wild boars away from inhabited centers and agricultural crops. It is not possible to continue to talk excessively only about the stagnant problems of wild boar hunting, snubbing the enhancement of other forms of hunting and especially those of small sedentary game that needs serious environmental protection projects and the creation of adequate habitats before its reintroduction on the territory. Propose, develop and implement projects in the Restocking and Capture Areas for small sedentary game. We reiterate our opposition to the very bad and humiliating method of introducing game for hunters "Ready hunting" a few days before the opening of the "sedentary" hunt. Hunting will have to remain popular and social and will always have to see hunters as the primary manager.
