Arci Caccia: Umbria, new management for the restocking and capture areas; meeting with the ARCI CACCIA Regional Secretary Emanuele Bennati.
The Arci Caccia Regional Secretary, Emanuele Bennati, on the new management for the Restocking and Capture Zones hopes “We need a cultural change, a project of unity that brings hunting back into society. The definition of a hunter is sometimes very reductive. In fact, it does not take into account all those collateral activities for the protection of the territory and wildlife that are highlighted with the management of the Restocking and Capture Areas, which, if done in the right way, restoring faunal imbalances between the different species with targeted interventions. , is the bearer of a healthy and balanced biodiversity.
The Restocking and Capture Areas can become our business card, the possibility of making them accessible not only to our communities, but also to those who come to spend their holidays in our Region, perhaps also attracting environmental tourism, with the creation of nature trails within these areas with sighting points for both sedentary and migratory fauna, as is also the case in large parks. A particular type of tourism, active all year round. I firmly believe - continues the ARCI CACCIA Regional Secretary - that this would be a good starting point for a relaunch of the hunting activity, which would lead to even more funds for management.
I would like to remind you that in these days the ATCs of the Province of Perugia have started consultations with all the hunting associations for the renewal of the agreements for the management of the ZRC. It would be an opportunity for a new management where all the hunting associations, involved immediately, with the constitution of a single management committee, can put an end to those diatribes that have seen, over the course of several years, hunters of the same territory divided in opposing factions, instead of considering the ZRC a common good to be managed and preserved and above all to be placed at the service of the community. Through the unitary management, it is already possible to start a wider project that will lead to the unity of the hunting world.
Furthermore - continues Emanuele Bennati - the decision of the Umbria Region to proceed with the modification of the regulation on territorial hunting areas could give us the opportunity to open a new phase, look for a moment of confrontation between the associations to formulate a proposal that represents the maximum expression of the hunting world, which becomes the synthesis for a turning point, this is synonymous with unity and a unity built on ideas with respect for hunters and hunting.
Even the “common good” fauna must be one of the points of unity, because it is in the interest of hunters to protect it together with the entire environment that hosts it. Clearly for the purposes of unity there is also the certainty of a safe "hunt" perhaps with a single insurance policy that protects the hunter, but this issue will have to be addressed in other locations. The unity of the hunting world does not lie only in the charter or in the acronyms - concludes the Secretary - but it lies above all in the head and heart of us leaders of the associations, which we can no longer shirk from the responsibility of pursuing it, through important projects that bring back to the center of the discussion the hunt and the hunter ”.
