Arci Caccia Florence applauds the work of the hunters of wild boars from Mugello, who in recent days have rescued hikers and yesterday made themselves available to the community to solve yet another "wild boar emergency": We thank the fellow hunters of the Italian Federation of Hunting of the municipal section of Frigole di Lecce for making us remember that we must never get used to press reports. In fact, the Ponzalla Cinghialai team made a gesture of fraternity very beautiful and important. But of course it was obvious we would think. Perhaps because we know them and we know that it is not the only gesture of brotherhood they have made.
Or because together with many other teams they participate in the social life of the various communities in many ways. From sending volunteer labor to restore paths or for festivals and parties but also with very important civil volunteer gestures. The collection of waste found in the woods. A meticulous control of the territory. Parties and festivals that end with donations to missions in Africa or other charities. This is the essence of almost all the wild boar hunting teams in the Province of Florence but I would say all of Tuscany. The boar hunting team is almost always organized with one democratic and hierarchical structure but above all it is a social entity where the hunting members form a solid and supportive group that could be compared to a large family. It is almost always a positive model.
We thank, albeit belatedly, the hunters of the team of In Ponza for what they did. It is not just that he stopped the expulsion and carried the tourist in his arms with a broken ankle up to one of their off-road vehicles and then take her to the first useful place where she could receive asylum and care. We would also like to point out the important and difficult intervention carried out yesterday Sunday 27 October with efficiency and effectiveness by the three teams of the Vaglia district (La Canapaia, La Serpiollese and Il Tridente) who removed two large herds of wild boars from inside the urban park of the Garena in Pratolino, in the Municipality of Vaglia. Intervention, repeatedly requested by the public administration, very difficult for the contemporary presence, in just over two hectares of land, of an inextricable fort, of a state road with heavy traffic, of structures such as an Adventure Park and above all of wild boars without any fear of man who gave a hard time to dogs, hitting them repeatedly. At the same time another group of canai has driven away the herd of large boars which had settled in the thickets near the Banti municipal kennel.
With this action it should have been achieved that wild boars stop doing damage to agricultural crops but above all that attacks on people who are unaware are taking a walk with their dog on a leash can no longer occur. Certainly it will be essential to proceed withcomplete removal of fallen plants and thick and large bushes. We hope that the administrators of Florence and the municipalities of the enclosure will also proceed to verify the possibility of using the experience, efficiency and effectiveness of the wild boar hunting teams to remove the wild boars from the urban context or near this. Clearly only where it might be possible from a safety point of view for dogs and citizens.
