Discussion, participation, and then a single voice, a single management, that of the governing bodies. On June 16, our Association held the Planning Conference of the Regions of Southern Italy to deepen the themes of wildlife management, as was done between the coordinations of other Regions in preparation for the National Conference to be held at the beginning of 2019. The involvement of the members of the base is a beautiful, positive and productive effort that distinguishes the ARCI Caccia from others. An intense day of work that has strengthened a fundamental and undisputed principle: Management and conservation policies never go along with “hunting prohibition”. ARCI Caccia believes that good management and planned sampling are also necessary in protected areas, therefore, prohibiting hunting from other areas in Puglia or Abruzzo would be a "curse" to have the balance between wild species, a task that the Society delegates to hunters. Interdicting hunting along the coasts makes no sense and no valid reasons. The enemies for the life of the wildlife are the consumption of the soil, the overbuilding. We do not provide alibis by unnecessarily prohibiting hunting. To close the hunt is to give up a civic role recognized by the Society. The objective of the interregional agreements and of the homogeneous hunting calendars is the technical reference for a wider and more articulated mobility planned in the Region and between the Regions, without mortifying the freedom of individual choice. Defeating the miserable market for migratory wildlife through the sale of badges finds, in programming, the best and most transparent alternative answer.
The idea of ghettoizing and "building walls" among hunters is the most anachronistic and unscientific that can be hypothesized. Producing hospitable environments for migratory fauna, passing from "ready hunting" to the production of small game is the answer to decadence and hunting speculation. Otherwise what are ATCs for? To return to the Hunting Reserves? Our appeal is to Italian farmers (without borders of flags and territories) so that they are recognized protagonists in the maintenance of natural environments. Be careful in the burning of the stubble, active in the maintenance of pasture meadows, in the controlled use of pesticides. The Regions, the ATCs, the hunting world must commit to supporting these biodiversity policies even at the cost of a few less sterile “ready hunting” purchases. The ARCI Caccia, in its nature, is "anti-poaching".
Poachers are a plague that the hunting ban tables feed and facilitate. The signing of the Convention between the ARCI Caccia and the ARMA dei Carabinieri, the increase in control units, the isolation of a criminal practice such as poaching, and a strong cultural campaign towards hunters, citizens of respect for the nature, are the way that, when practiced, has given concrete results in the fight against illegality. Our members firmly adhere to their Federations because they are at the forefront against poachers and the Association oversees those territories with the moral commitment to fight and hunt anyone who is guilty of wildlife offenses. This is the ARCI Caccia, other rumors are fantasies, sometimes out of place and in any case completely personal ideas.
