Arci Caccia and Cia di Siena have signed a pact that signs the union of aims and methods in the field of hunting. Resolution of the problem of damage to crops and compliance with the collection plans established by the Province at the center of the meeting.
Hunters and farmers side by side for a correct management of the hunting activity able to represent an added value and an opportunity for the multifunctional agriculture typical of the Sienese territory. Arci Caccia and Cia di Siena have signed a pact that signs the union of aims and methods in the field of hunting.
The presidents, Alessandro Ferretti for Arci Caccia and Luca Marcucci for the CIA, signed the agreement. Both of them agreed that proper wildlife management can bring benefits to both categories, starting from the solution of the problem of damage to crops. Respect for the collection plans established by the Province, overall management of the territory and great commitment to prevention are therefore the main guidelines at the center of the pact signed by Arci Caccia and CIA of Siena.
The new regional regulations now give the possibility of an overall management of the territory with regard to ungulates and therefore there are finally the tools for a concrete faunal rebalancing. The solution of the damage problem, however, must necessarily pass from close collaboration between the parties concerned and not through demagogic measures that risk only exacerbating divisions and misunderstandings.
During the meeting, the two associations focused above all on the prospects to be given in the Province of Siena to hunting and wildlife management, at the same time enhancing the volunteer work put in place by hunters and the potential of farms. It is necessary that the Provincial Administration immediately present the strategic and programmatic lines of the New Provincial Wildlife Plan, activating at the same time all the tools and in-depth tables between the categories concerned.
The New Plan will have to represent a useful tool to overcome the limitations of the past and re-launch with experimentation new forms of management for wildlife and environmental purposes. This is a challenge that must be met and won with the new ATC management committees.
One of the most qualifying points of this strategy will be to involve farms in the management of small sedentary fauna and in particular of the public faunal institutes through specific framework agreements that provide for the remuneration of the companies themselves based on the results achieved and with multi-year contracts for the implementation of environmental improvements.
Likewise Arci Caccia and CIA think it is The time has come to give life in the province to areas with more advanced experimental management of sedentary noble small fauna where the agricultural enterprise can play a fundamental role. The environmental value of the presence of fauna in the territories is also of considerable importance in order to implement forms of environmental-faunistic tourism through the network of agritourisms and to organize hunting users from other regions in the same structures.
These, in synthesis, are the elements that emerged from an open and articulated confrontation that laid the foundations for giving life to a new pact between agriculture and huntingia in which everyone, in his own specificity, can be the actor of a new season where, from a correct wildlife management, everyone can benefit from it.
