The rifles semiautomatic Benelli represent the widest range in the world: a family that continues to grow with the aim of offering quality weapons able to best meet the different needs of the hunter. The Benelli semi-automatic rifles are not exempt from this continuous process of range growth. After the battue version, the Argo E range is enriched with a new black compact. It recently landed in the national armories there Argo E Compact black. Aesthetically it is characterized by the black color like the Argo E Comfortech black but the compact “sister” differs in the size of the barrel (47 cm) and in the equipment. But let's proceed in order. The birth of the Argo E Compact black air rifle is due to Benelli's desire to provide a timely response to the growing needs of wild boar hunting enthusiasts.
The strap-makers, after appreciating the qualities of the high visibility Argo E battue rifle, have "beaten" strongly on social networks. By responding en masse to the surveys proposed on the page Facebook Benelli Armi Italy, they advised marketing and the technical department the opportunity to look even further, developing a new project. On this basis, as well as on other research and surveys in the field, the short-barreled black arrived in the armory. Made for those who hunt on driven hunts, here is the Benelli Argo E Compact black, a rifle dedicated to hitting and quick maneuvers in the thick of the woods. For users who do not appreciate “bright colors” and are satisfied with normal quick release sling swivels; for them Benelli proposes the Argo E Black, a version with a short barrel (47 cm as for the E Battue) of the Argo E Comfortech Black (51 cm barrel) proposed in the .30 / 06 and .308 Winchester calibers.
Like the "long" Comfortech sisters, the Argo E Compact Black are also equipped with the Comfort stock which has its first raison d'etre in the reduction of recoil and bearing.
The Comfort stock is equipped with an interchangeable nose pad, which makes the contact between the cheek and the back of the stock softer, dampens the vibrations that are transmitted to the lower jaw (reduction of the risk of deafness) and, with spare nose pads (low e high), it is possible to vary the height of the back of the stock according to the user's preferences and the height of the installed optics. In this way, the comfort and naturalness of the position assumed by the shooter's head are enhanced, who can also adjust the fold and length of the blade according to his needs, thus intervening on the LOP (butt plate-trigger distance). This is made possible by the fact that the anatomical Air Cell pad is quickly interchangeable and without tools; the short pad is mounted on the speargun, the medium and long ones can be purchased separately. The Air Cell recoil pad is anatomic and is available for both right-handed and left-handed users. The gun is supplied as standard with a drop and edge variation kit and if we consider that the crossbar safety is reversible, we understand that the Argo E Compact Black can also be used comfortably by left-handers without any penalty other than the expulsion to the right.
The interchangeable Air Cell polyurethane pads deform under load in a controlled manner by absorbing part of the recoil energy and increasing the contact surface with the shoulder, thereby decreasing the specific impulse so as to further reduce the recoil sensation. The rifle must be fast at the shoulder, for this reason the distance between the face of the trigger and the face of the butt plate (LOP = Buttplate-trigger distance) is in the standard set-up equal to 350 mm, but as an option there are pads that allow you to lengthen the LOP by 10 mm and 20 mm. The butt plate plays its part in reducing recoil (and therefore detection), but the bulk of the work is carried out by the controlled deformation blade, which we can consider as if it were divided into two portions, front and rear, connected to each other between beams whose bending at the shot expends part of the recoil energy allowing a reduction of the peak load exerted on the shooter's shoulder. In addition to the reduction of recoil and fletching, the Comfortech stock also offers other advantages, not least the "hemispherical" Air Touch checkering that "holds", facilitates the rearrangement of the hand and reduces the possibility of sweating thanks to the circulation of air between the skin and the surface. polymer. The sights of the Black are similar to those of the other Argo Endurance, that is, a red fiber optic front sight coupled with a half batting rib with green fiber optic inserts; the sights are factory set, but you can adjust the sight if we want to fine-tune the sights for our favorite cartridge. The aiming system is more than valid, but if you want an extra gear the back of the shutter box carries three series of threaded holes for mounting commercial bases or picatinny rail provided as Optional by Benelli. The rifle can thus be equipped with red dot collimators, holographic collimators, reflection collimators or stop optics.
Argo E Battue (weight 3,35 kg, barrel 47 cm, total length 102 cm) was designed to be quick on the shoulder and possess strong dynamic skills; with a "right" optics, handling and inertia following a target do not suffer too much also because the weight is added to the carcass; if you prefer light and even less bulky collimators than a stop optics, the market offers a whole range of collimators of various types, even with very minimal dimensions and weights.
That Argo E Comfortech Black is extremely reliable and ultra-safe is a fact demonstrated by the tests at the BNP and by the use of tens of thousands of guns in the field;
The trigger group, designed to combine safety, reliability (constant strike mark) and maximum performance on the hunting ground to the maximum degree: no light weights (trigger weight between N 19 and N24, or between 1,94 kg , 2,4 and kg XNUMX), good predictability (it is always important, whatever the use, to be able to feel the moment in which the contrast surfaces are disengaged) also thanks to a discreet cleaning and, Last but not least, comfortable and easily accessible trigger that quickly returns forwards, with a short reset stroke for the type of weapon. In addition to being good, a shot must be mainly safe, in the sense of always "turning on" the primer capsule. Argo E Compact black has the same mechanics as Argo Endurance, which when tested at the National Test Bench according to a protocol modeled on that of military weapons, passed the Endurance test with flags in the wind, to which, still today, no other weapon of the same category was submitted.
Argo E Compact Black it is an extremely compact and easy to handle rifle, designed to ensure maximum ease of use when hitting. Unique performance enclosed in a compact weapon, synonymous with comfort and ergonomics.
