Selected in France in the Ariége department, the Ariégeois is a hound suitable for hunting in the plains, in the hills, and in stony areas. The Ariégeois is resistant, with a good voice, a light step and a remarkable sense of smell. Ariégeois was selected with three streams of blood: Blue de Gascogne, Gascon Saintongeois and Briguet and this mestizo origin has always carried it with him, never achieving a good reputation either in France or abroad.
