In this period, the migration of many is taking place waterfowl that from the wintering places are moving to those of nesting in Northern Europe. Piro Piro, Couriers, Fighters, Snipe, Godwit, Italian knights, Mignattai and Garganey, just to mention a few species, are passing through our Province which does not have important natural wetlands, suitable for stopping and feeding these birds. Fortunately, along the fluvial courses of rivers, in the municipalities of Montelupone, Montecosaro, Potenza Picena, just to name a few falling within the territory managed by the Territorial Area of Caccia Macerata 2, the hunters manage artificial lakes, real wetlands of small dimensions, with considerable economic investments, and with a daily job of maintenance.
During the period in which hunting is allowed, from 1st September to 31st January, are also used to carry out a sampling as required by current legislation, and throughout the year they are essential to allow all aquatic wildlife, huntable and protected, to to be able to stop on our territory. A special thanks goes to the Macerata 2 Hunting Territorial Area, which has always been sensitive to the protection and management of all wildlife, which makes a small contribution to allow for the maintenance of pre-nuptial migration the water level of these lakes is low and constant as the Limicoli need this prerogative to be able to feed themselves. Once again the hunting world is confirmed an important step in the conservation of habitats and the fauna related to them without burdening the costs for the community (Nazzareno Galassi - Provincial President Federcaccia Macerata).
