A very successful championship
A real success. There is no other way to define the National Championship of the New Levers which on Saturday and Sunday transformed the platforms of the Tav Roma into what, in the intentions of the Federal Council, will be the new forge of future talents of the Italian clay pigeon shooting. Students/shooters from schools from eight Regions are involved in the competition: Calabria, Campania, Lazio, Lombardy, Molise, Puglia, Sicily and Tuscany. To access the National phase, the New Levers passed through the Regional selection, which brought almost four hundred students to the stage. In total there were 137 those who competed with the launches of the Capitoline facility over the weekend to deserve the first medals and the first trophies, both for individuals and for teams.
The main podiums
On the podium of the Junior Men were Giuseppe Mileti from Puglia, gold with 21/25, Michele Poeta from Lazio, silver with 16/25, and Alessio Palmisano from Puglia, bronze with 12/25. In the Junior Female sector, Carlotta Parrotto from Puglia deserved the gold medal with 16/25. Among the male students, Giorgio Arici from Lombardy and William Anselmi from Tuscany competed for the two most valuable medals. Once the regular throws ended with the same score of 20/25, the two youngsters challenged each other in the play-off and Arici put the gold medal around his neck with +1, while Anselmi took the silver with +0. Antonio Rocco from Molise joined him on the podium for the bronze medal with 19/25.
Female scores
On the other hand, the affirmation of Sara D'Urbano from Lazio in the female student sector is clear. With 19/25 she deserved the gold by lining up behind her Simona Nardillo from Puglia, silver with 14/25, and Vincenza Orfanò from Sicily, bronze medal with 12/25. As regards the Team classification, the two best scores for men and women of each Region were added together to determine the overall podium. Puglia deserved the top of the podium with 32/50 + 4 achieved by Simona Nardillo and Mattia Fusco from Puglia. Silver, however, Sara D'Urbano and Lucian Savitchi of Lazio with 32/50 +3. Finally, the bronze medal was deserved by the couple made up of William Anselmi and Rebecca Camus from Tuscany with 31/50 (source: FITAV).
