Monday February 1, 2016 the courses for the qualification will officially begin selection hunting for ungulates, safety on hitting, for interventions pursuant to article 37 and for voluntary hunting guard organized by theTerritorial Mass Hunting Area 13. The chosen locations are three: they are the Terrarossa Castle of Licciana Nardi (Aulla headquarters), the Amendola Room in Carrara and the Regional Offices of Agriculture and Hunting (Territorial Offices). Furthermore, lessons will take place from 21 pm to midnight on each day scheduled by the calendar. What are the exact dates and topics that will be discussed? At the Aulla site we will talk about principles and methods for qualitative and quantitative estimation of populations, in addition to environmental and wildlife requalification, the management of damage to crops and road accidents.
A whole day will be dedicated to ungulates and another to the determination of the settling and sampling plans, with some hints on the treatment of remains and meat. Among the other topics of the courses should be mentioned i ballistics concepts, hunting ethics, first aid and safety rules, the recovery of wounded items and the general information of the track dog. In the Carrara site, however, it will be possible to follow the insights dedicated to the wild boar (recognition, census, life cycle and signs of presence), with deer and roe deer (always referring to the details that have just been listed).
In Massa, then, it will be possible to deepen the various issues related to the mouflon and the fallow deer. The duration of the courses is determined according to the program drawn up by ISPRA, therefore from the beginning of next Monday it will take at least three months to complete, then we will proceed with the lessons for article 37 and 51 with one month each. Among other things, this qualification for selection hunting for ungulates was designed based on national guidelines. Consequentially, it will be valid throughout the Italian territory, although it will be necessary to take into account some limitations that the provinces can insert for the issue of equivalences.
For the qualification relating to voluntary hunting guards it is necessary to have a valid firearms license, alternatively it is possible to present the declaration of the desire for renewal in case of expiration. Residence in the province of Massa Carrara and registration with the local ATC are not required for registration, which is therefore open to all. The qualification courses for selective withdrawal will allow for some absences and to be admitted to the final exam, while the obligation to attend is required for Article 37 and Article 51 in order not to lose access to the final exam and to the final qualification.
