A month of censuses
THEATC Pescara, in compliance with the 2023/24 Abruzzo region hunting calendar (chapter D), is organizing the monitoring of the Beccaccia species (Scolopax Rusticola) with a pointing dog, according to the ISPRA technical directives and based on the Dgr 953/2013. This monitoring will be carried out both within the wildlife institutes (zrc, zrv, ac) and in free territory from 20 January to 20 February 2024.
Assigned zones
All information relating to monitoring is reported below. The maps are available on this site in the “Cartographies” section (UC sampling unit). To confirm the officially assigned UCs or request those that remain free, it is only necessary to send an email to the address: [email protected] by 19 January 2024.
Dog operators and hunters
Regarding the duration, there will be 3 fixed hours of activity for each sample area, from 8:00 to 16:00. The monitor will have to opt for the morning or afternoon slot. For each outing, a specific operational form must be filled out with an attached map. Dog Operators must be previously trained through a course that includes a final exam. The hunter must have the "Specialist - Beccaccia monitor" certificate. This qualification is mandatory for carrying out monitoring (source: ATC Pescara).
