THEMigratory Birdlife Office of Italian Federation of Hunting has returned to talk about avian flu and the ban imposed on aquatic hunters for what concerns the use of live calls. The same Office and ACMA have been working for some time to find a positive solution. A delegation from Federcaccia met with two representatives ofExperimental Zooprophylactic Institute of the Venezie of Legnaro (Padua) and has deepened the subject.
In particular, the aim was to understand whether the derogation that allows the use of calls (anseriformes and caradriiformes) can be restored. The managers of the Institute said they were willing to review the ban, authorizing live recalls in areas that are not considered sensitive and at risk for the spread of avian. Zooprophylactic Institute and hunters, then, could collaborate to identify any dangerous areas.
The opinion of this body is in any case subject to a request from the Ministry of Health, which is why Federcaccia wrote to the dicastery to request the waiver from 1 November, requesting at the same time a meeting with the managers to discuss the application rules. The issue will also be followed closely in the coming days, in the hope that the hunting tradition can be restored very soon.
