Lombardy and Veneto
With the publication of the "Management device containing control and surveillance measures to prevent the introduction and possible dissemination ofbird flu"The possibility of using live calls (both from fixed and temporary stalking) is finally restored within zones A and B of the Lombardy and Veneto Regions until 30/09/2022 or as long as the epidemiological situation allows it.
The date of September 18th
It is now necessary that the Regions regulate active surveillance by 18 September, otherwise they will not be able to be used, but they have already taken action in this sense. All this - ACMA informs us - is valid only for these two Regions and within zones A and B; out of these everything remains normal (source: Hunting Federation). Very interesting is the first article of the device which refers to the strengthening of biosecurity measures.
Biosecurity measures
In consideration of the current epidemiological situation and the risk of introduction of influenza viruses through contacts with wild birds, it must be guaranteed in poultry farms, and in particular for those located in areas at risk and with high poultry density as per Ministerial Decree of 14 March 2018, the systematic adoption of suitable biosecurity measures relating to:
- correct implementation of cleaning and disinfection protocols;
- prohibition of unauthorized personnel from entering and leaving companies;
- verification of the correct movement of vehicles or people entering and leaving the companies;
- storage and disposal of carcasses destined for destruction;
- storage and disposal of manure;
- storage of virgin litter which must be adequately covered and protected from any contact with wild birds;
- if the farm uses surface water for watering the animals, these must
be properly disinfected;
- the owners / keepers prepare appropriate disinfection means and protocols at the entrances and
exits of establishments and the entrances / exits of buildings housing poultry or other birds
in captivity.
