Avian flu and the limits that the Ministry of Health imposed on Italian hunters represent one of the "hottest" issues in the hunting field. Andrea Zanoni, regional councilor of Veneto, spoke on the matter, asking for an effective contrast of the pathology, with the Region called to do its part. Zanoni spoke of the ban on the use of live calls with regard to waterfowl hunting (valid until the next 31 October).
For the councilor, even stricter limits are needed, taking into account the numerous farms of chickens and turkeys. The Democratic Party exponent also presented a question to introduce precautionary measures in hunting, given that in his opinion the avian vehicles are the birds killed and put in the game bag.
There was also a rather polemical phrase against hunting: "Unfortunately, when hunting is involved, no one wants to get involved, for fear of losing a few votes". In short, it was a harsh indictment against hunters and live calls, when instead it was proved that the transmission was caused by the poor application of biosecurity measures negli intensive breeding.
