Hunting accident: Bari, a hunter from Brindisi was injured on the first day of pre-opening of the 2015-2016 hunting season.
A fasanese hunter was injured yesterday, Wednesday 2 September, while participating in a hunt by hunting in the countryside of Gioia de Colle (BA). He was hit by a series of shots to the face and ear and is hospitalized in Monopoli hospital where he was taken after his injury.
Yesterday was the pre-opening day of the hunting season in Puglia, you could hunt from 6 to 19. The actual season begins on September 20. The Fasanese was stationed behind a bush when he was hit by a volley of shots at the height of the face shot by mistake by another hunter; the man sustained injuries to an ear and Adam's apple.
As already mentioned, the opening of the hunting season is set for 20 September 2015 and will end on 31 January 2016 for residents of the regional territory. For those outside the region, in possession of authorizations or permits, however, hunting is allowed from 4 October 2015 to 30 December 2015.
The new hunting calendar of Puglia also provides three days of pre-opening for certain species of birds: in particular, it will be possible to hunt only the turtle dove and the wood pigeon on the days of 2 and 5 September 2015 until 13 pm while for the whole day of 13 September. 2015 it will be possible to hunt only the turtledove and the quail.
