As announced by the section of the Basilicata of Italian Federation of Hunting, the Regional Council has adapted and modified the previous hunting calendar as regards the 2016-2017 season. The new text conforms to ISPRA opinion and it is the consequence of a recent one judgment of the Regional Administrative Court. The Councilor for Agricultural and Forestry Policies, Luca Braia, confirmed the approval. The Lucanian hunting season began on October 1st and will end on January 29th.
The hunters who they do not have their residence or domicile in this region will have the opportunity to access local ATCs, respecting the limits imposed for the collection of migratory species. The variations are different and concern different periods. The deadline for hunting the common hare will be December 4th, while for the pheasant on November 30th. Gray partridges and pheasants can only be hunted in agritourism-hunting companies and until the end of 2016.
As for larks and blackbirds, the hunt will end on 31 December, while snipe, whisk and lapwing can continue until 20 January. This latter date will also be the deadline for garganeys, shovels, moorhens, mallards and wigeons. Another important change was that of the game bag relating to turtledoves (5 heads per day and 25 per year), at woodcocks (3 daily and 20 per year) and ai codons (5 per day and 25 per year).
