The BENELLI Magnifico Set of Five was presented in Italy in the presence of the international press, the splendid set consisting of five semi-automatic shotguns made entirely by hand, true works of art.
June 27, 2022 is a date that will remain in the history of Benelli, the MAGNIFICENT Set of Five was officially presented to the specialized press at the Palazzo Ducale in Urbino (Pu), a city considered the cradle of the Renaissance. Present at the event Anna Rita Moretti, wife of the company's president, e Elena Gregori Daverio, widow of the art critic Philippe Daverio. Thus began the European tour of the Magnifico Set of Five, real works of art composed of a set of fine rifles made entirely in Italy by Benelli, just arrived in Urbino from the United States where they had been exhibited in the past months. Next stop Florence, where in two weeks these Benelli masterpieces will be shown at the 35th SCI convention, to then fly to Paris and London.
Presenting it inside the Doge's Palace is the very emotional Elena Gregori Daverio, who exalts the MAGNIFICENT Set of Five in her words, waiting for a lucky collector to make these works of art made up of 5 rifles destined to go down in history his own. Impressive numbers also for the beyond 2000 hours of manual engraving for each single shotgun.
MAGNIFICENT Set of Five took 5 years to make, these are just some of the characteristics of these jewels. We and our fellow journalists can feel happy and privileged to admire the Set of Five live. The Magnifico Set of Five is composed of five fine semi-automatic shotguns, two in 12 gauge, two in 20 gauge and one in 28 gauge enclosed in a splendid suitcase, also precious and totally handmade.
By reviewing the features of this Magnificent Set of Five, we start from one hand-sculpted inertia-operated stainless steel casing embellished with dedicated engravings, all based on the most prestigious Benelli series, theExecutive. The engravings are entirely hand-drawn and hand-made and feature subjects dedicated to each caliber. Common to all the semiautomatics that make up the Set of Five is the decoration consisting of alcune oak leaves and acorns acorns with rose gold embossed bezels. The splendid hunting scenes depicted on both sides of these rifles are also breathtaking. For the two 12-gauge semiautos, the theme chosen is that of waterfowl hunting, where on lagoon vegetation, some ducks rushing towards the sky fly away on the horizon. For the two 20-gauge shotguns, the proposed theme is that of pheasant hunting, while the smallest 28 gauge, depicting works dedicated to hunting the smallest of the phasianids, the quail, are represented.
The mechanics of the Magnifico Set of Five are entrusted to the classic Benelli inertial system with rotating head closure, developed by the Bolognese Bruno Civolani and used for the first time on the Montefeltro in 1983., with mechanical parts also finished manually. Enjoy watching the trigger guard inspired by the golden section, symbol of perfect harmony of shapes, which is found not only in works by Leonardo Da Vinci, but also to recall the shape of the helical staircase of the Torricini of the Ducal Palace of Urbino, yet another tribute to the city. There safe is manual with two positions, placed on the back of the carcass.
La barrel of the Magnifico Set of Five semiauto it is made of chromium molybdenum steel, manually burnished. There rib is flat with hand guilloche finishes and accompanied by a gold front sight. For 12 and 20 gauges the barrel is 700 mm long, while they are 650 mm for the 28 gauge. The barrel has a fixed choke ** (two stars) for the largest of the proposed calibers, while *** (three stars) are for calibers 20 and 28.
The stock that composes these works of art is a noble walnut wood (grade 5), with a stock worked totally also in its checkering, also by hand. The woods were then finished in oil with expert applications by masters of fine rifles, who are also credited with embedding the woods. For what concern butt plate, It has been realized in buffalo horn.
The transport case of the Magnifico Set of Five is entrusted to a precious hand-finished leather, where in addition to the five works of art, all the accessories necessary for gun care, from the steel oil bottle to the brushes for cleaning the barrel.
