On Saturday 8 July, Benelli hosted a large number of people in the Urbino plant, all in some way linked to the company's activity: the afternoon opening of the works saw on stage characters of noble stature intent on proposing magnificent reflections on what what beauty is and to what this immaterial entity can be applied. The round table was attended by Dr. Marco Gaudenzi, the architect who has been caring for the style of Benelli rifles for years, Prof. Philippe Daverio, a well-known scholar of art, customs and the soul of people, Prof. Paolo Fabbri semiologist, Dr. Lucia Serlenga critic of fashion and costume of "Il Giornale", Gastone Bertozzini, President of TVS, a company in the Urbino area that takes particular care of the style of its products, entrusting them to exceptional designers such as Giugiaro.
The exegesis of the term beauty unfolded with many ethical and philosophical supports that captivated the audience for the polite and flat dissertation of each of the speakers present: the Benelli style is based precisely on the appearance of its rifles, an element that first captures the observer's attention, then consequently comes the functionality, the other historical support of these creations.
The choice made just half a century ago by the late Dr. Paolo Benelli, who fell in the arms sector from the family one of motorcycles, has always placed these products at the highest levels: inertial movement, the one that originally aroused at least astonishment if not a marked disinterest was the keystone of the refinement of these rifles because only with extremely precise and accurate workmanship the mechanism guarantees absolute efficiency. Condemned to perfection could be the axiom that defines Benelli and all those who work there: the challenge was met with punctual determination by the group that was initially reduced and then in constant evolution of the operators in the area who, out of atavistic habit, know how to connect to technical factors. the search for beauty, the refined, the taste inherent in every detail. This was followed by a very rich buffet of aperitifs and then the dinner attended by a thousand guests: all the employees with their families were present and we allow ourselves a note that has to do, in the long run, with the Benelli working method, very much effective, never stressful where everyone, at any level, gives their best knowing with certainty that from the top of the pyramid down everyone and everyone does the same.
Here the note lies in observing how many children were present, but not one raised his voice, started throwing tantrums or anything else: an applause to the parents who, by forming beautiful families, give their children the necessary education, certainly helped by working in an environment that allows for strong determination at work and a peaceful, peaceful family life.
The speech of the President, Cav. del Lavoro Ing. Luigi Moretti, recalled several notes of this Benelli reality, underlining how in the face of so many verbal calls to carry out, even from high supranational authorities, here in Urbino one operates, one does, one builds directly and without mincing words. The company history excursus went through difficult moments, especially after the immature death of the founder, but daring, taking risks, trusting in one's own strengths whipped by difficulties, and for this reason capable of great things, belongs to the concept of life of this whole: we define it this way, with appreciable affection, because it is impossible to separate the human components from the technical ones in all their forms and you can breathe all this at every step by visiting the departments in operational moments.
A final note put in last only to better highlight it is the appointment of Eng. Luigi Moretti as honorary citizen of Urbino for the obvious and obvious merits he has earned in this area in over thirty-three years at the management of the factory: fortunately there are still souls who believe in these gestures, in offering and receiving, which are also custodians of a beauty that makes the human soul great.
