Thanks to the courtesy of Beretta SpA we were able to try the latest edition of the DT11 over / under skeet called Black Edition: an update not only aesthetic to provide shooters with an increasingly performing rifle. The stock is made from grade 3 walnut, with an adjustable back and an anti-recoil and anti-slip Microcore butt plate, the pistol grip has a marked arch and swelling on the right side while the rounded shaft has longitudinal profiling.
The 1.340 cm barrels have been lightened to just 76 g thanks to the shortening of the side ribs and the adoption of the upper carbon rib: with this material the extractable assembly formed by the bridge and the walls of the trigger unit is also built, reducing the weight. The aim is to allow the shooter to find the right balance without having a too heavy shotgun: to the B-Fast Balance inserted in the stock are now added some small weights to be applied on the portions of side ribs hidden by the shaft: there are 6 blocks of 5 g and 6 of 10 g: two pegs in each block are inserted into special holes of the half-ribs, preventing longitudinal deviations and a magnet maintains adherence to the seat. There are different weights that can be purchased separately. Since the metal components are all dark, attention has been paid to the details by opacifying the burnishing of the upper parts of the speargun, including the key, and by creating the anti-reflective dots of the receiver's breasts: the edges of the side reinforcements, the covers of the half-pins, on the other hand, the ribbons on the back are polished without affecting the shooter's view and creating an excellent aesthetic effect.
The Steelium Pro barrels and Optima Choke High Performance chokes are at the top of the specific technology: the drilling changes radically and we give a percentage numerical ratio on the length of the portions compared to the total size of the barrels by comparing the Optima Bore of a DT10 Sporting to the Steelium Pro of the DT11 in question. In the first there is a steeply sloping cone that is worth 10%, a cylindrical section that covers 78,5% and the choke with 11,5%; in the second there is a very short initial cone which marks a 3,1%, a long cone with a very smooth slope covering 71,5%, a reduced cylindrical portion equal to 14,6% and 10,8% for the choke . It is easy to understand how the water hammer, the recoil thrust and the constriction of the shot are reduced to a minimum with better command of the shotgun and shot patterns with greater density, well distributed and without stray shots, with an increase in speed and useful range.
