The new Beretta DT11 is considered one of the best shotguns for the Trap sport discipline. The dimensions, weight, balance and pattern were the starting points from which the design and construction of the DT11 began.
Il DT 11, an evolution of the DT10 Trident, is the shot over and under Beretta 12 gauge which has earned the greatest successes in the international field, thanks to its technical qualities and the performance it is able to offer.
In home Beretta they paid particular attention to the size, weight, balance and point of impact, in order to guarantee outstanding performance during a race.
Il DT11 manages to meet the technical needs of the shooting discipline for which the shotgun was intended, namely the Trap. The weight of each individual component is predetermined during the design phase, to ensure the most efficient distribution of the shot patterns, the correct balance and the best swing of the gun.
Il DT11 manages to maintain its performance also and above all over time, thanks to the reliable locking system with through bolt, to the increased thickness at the side mirrors, with a consequent weight increase in the barycentric area to guarantee greater stability in the swing, at the the thickness and shape of the wide range extractors and the relative controls, to the cross of the forend which has a replaceable pad in highly resistant surface material which guarantees, year after year, the perfect seal of the cross-barrel assembly , to the barrel closing straps, the latter replaceable, and to the resistant nickel-based surface finish for greater resistance against atmospheric agents and wear.
At Casa Beretta, however, they also took care of the aesthetic aspect. In fact, the slender and elegant receiver, despite being very sturdy, is enhanced by the contrast of the opaque colored parts and the cords that surround the receiver, expertly polished to a mirror. The new design of the opening key, recommended by the experience of the best shooters, favors the grip, reduces effort and makes it easy to use the rifle even by left-handed shooters. The shape of the pull selector has been designed to guarantee the best grip and the easiest operation.
In addition, the upper rib has newly designed jumpers that are hollow inside, in order to ensure the balance of the barrels and improve greater heat dissipation in case of overheating of the pipes. Finally, a hand-made knocker in the upper part of the receiver allows to reduce the reflection during the shot.
The barrels of the DT11, 76.81 cm long, are the result of the experience of Beretta, the latter considered the largest producer of rods in the world. The Italian manufacturer uses Steelium Pro technology for the production of Beretta barrels, which allows the special triple-bonded steel to become an exceptional barrel through an equally unique production process. With deep drilling, cold hammering and special vacuum stretching, in this way the steel acquires the ideal characteristics to grant the best ballistic performance available on the market. In addition, the barrels of the Beretta DT11 feature a new internal geometric profile of the tubes, which gives rise to a single progressive taper.
All these devices give this weapon a lower flare, high penetration and breaking performance of the target and greater speed and accuracy of firing two shots in sequence.
When designing the DT1, Beretta always kept in mind only one fundamental factor: the shooter. The simplicity and automatic release of the trigger unit is achieved through three distinct, practical operations when the firearm is in maximum safety condition, i.e. open.
The micrometric adjustment of the trigger position can be easily carried out, the careful camber of the barrels and the upper profile of the receiver breasts allow the rapid acquisition of the target when an instinctive bracing occurs.
The models for American Trap, a category to which the DT11 belongs, are characterized by a higher point of impact. In fact, the masses are wisely distributed to allow the shotgun to have the center of gravity aligned with the first barrel. This feature virtually nullifies the fletching of the weapon allowing a faster acquisition of the target to hit with the second shot. Finally, the springs of the "V" hammers promise clear clicks and great percussion speed.
The DT11, in some versions, offers on request a fully adjustable stock, with which you have the advantage of memorizing the setting of the fold always used and consequently making the following adjustments without losing the chosen measurements.
Finally, the highest quality walnut woods are finished manually according to the choice of each shooter, who can choose the oil, the wax, the Tru Oil and other materials. The knurled surface of the stock and fore-end ensure maximum grip and are made entirely by hand.
The Beretta still amazes passionate shooters all over the world with the new DT11. Once again made in Italy triumphs.
