Specialization Certification
Pietro Beretta SpA Arms Factory announces the birth of “Beretta Academy – Mechanical Designer” in collaboration with Fondazione AIB (leader of a partnership that includes Confindustria Brescia, IIS Beretta and the academic world). This is an initiative aimed at training young talents in the role of “Product and process technician”. A project recognized at European level with a specialization certification that provides an alternative path to the academic one, inspired by the dual training systems that have made the fortune of many European countries. Learning by doing with a job in your pocket, therefore with immediate economic independence and growth prospects for the future: Beretta is an international company known throughout the world: it is constantly looking for highly qualified figures and this is the reason for the birth of this Academy. This approach, in addition to taking care of the best possible training on the market and valorizing the talents of the territory, allows post-high school diploma students to immediately begin their path in the world of work.
The two phases of the program
The Academy is aimed at recent graduates with a mechanical focus in the province of Brescia, with the aim of accompanying them in a highly specialized training path, lasting a total of 36 months. The program will be divided into two main phases:
12 months: IFTS (Higher Technical Education and Training) course in first level apprenticeship, with the achievement of a final certificate in “Product and process industrialization techniques”.
Next 24 months: professional apprenticeship to refine skills and obtain a qualification recognised at community level.
The Academy will provide targeted training on the key skills that underpin the process and industrial product in the mechanical field. This by addressing fundamental technical issues such as the use of design tools, the characteristics of materials, the mechanisms of weapons and the design of mechanical elements. The path will be enriched by transversal modules for the development of relational skills; all with a detailed calendar capable of guaranteeing complete preparation with a high rate of innovation.
Key skills
Engineer Marco Bassoli, director of the Research and Development area of Fabbrica d'armi Pietro Beretta, said: “The importance of maintaining and developing the high level of internal know-how is more crucial than ever for a company in this sector in view of its own development, but the company's mission is also to think about the new generations and their future. Providing an alternative path to the academic path, inspired by the dual training systems that have been very successful in Europe, we believe is a successful formula, which is expressed through a 36-month training path, whose participants will acquire key skills in product design and the related production process. The training will therefore focus on knowledge of the product and production technologies inside and outside the company, with the use of modern design and project verification tools, in order to develop skills that will be refined, on the job, over the following two years. I believe that this is an important opportunity to further consolidate the roots in the territory through the development of human resources.” The stages of the initiative:
February – June 2025: presentation of the project and selection of candidates among the high school graduates.
September 2025: start of the IFTS path.
September 2026: conclusion of the IFTS course and start of the professional apprenticeship.
September 2028: completion of apprenticeship and definitive entry into the world of work.
