Pietro Beretta Arms Factory is happy to announce that the over-under shooting SL2 Launch Edition specially created for the event Sir Jackie Stewart Challenge and donated to the charity Race Against Dementia has been a great success. In fact, an anonymous benefactor won it for the sum of 50 thousand British pounds (over 58 thousand euros at current exchange rates), doubling the price set as the auction base. The event was recently held in Scotland, south of Edinburgh, at Thirlestane Castle.
"I am very happy that Sir Jackie Stewart has thought of Beretta and involved my family in this special event with a very important purpose - comments Dr. Franco Gussalli Beretta, president of Fabbrica d'Armi Pietro Beretta - Charity is a topic that is very close to my heart and from this came the idea of preparing a one-of-a-kind piece to contribute to fundraising in this Race Against Dementia ”.
Race Against Dementia is the association created by former driver and three-time Formula 1 world champion Jackie Stewart (as well as multiple world champion in clay pigeon shooting in the down the line specialty in his youth) and by his beloved wife Helen who, since 2014, has been living with a diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia. The charity builds its foundations on medical research and progress in order to seek a cure for a devastating disease for both sufferers and family members.
