For the Bonardo di Bra (CN) armory it has become a pleasant and welcome custom to hold, under the aegis of Swarovski Italia, an annual meeting for the presentation of the Austrian manufacturer's products. This year the Tenuta Bonicelli of Ceresole d'Alba, led by the excellent Lorenzo Verra, provided the pleasant setting and, together with Bonardo, an excellent level of catering. The rainy weather granted a respite so that the turnout was considerable: under the wise guidance of Paolo Naccarella of Swarovski Italia and Simone Ruffa, passionate and competent ball hunter, the guests were able to view the optical instruments on display, from the binoculars of various carats of normal setting or equipped with a ballistic rangefinder.
Together they could observe the long ones too, of suitable measures for those who practice more a static vision or if they carry them in the backpack in search of chamois, as well as the riflescopes declined in the many series with specific uses and culminating in the dS Model with rangefinder and automatic corrector of the tappet reference according to the data relating to the bullet used, its exit speed, the ballistic surveys among which the distance and the angle of the site stand out.
Carlo Bonardo's work was mainly aimed at assisting the shooters who, in large numbers, alternated under the gazebo where a shooting bench was set up to try their luck by firing a single shot, without prior tests, at the silhouette of a bristly boar placed at about 150 meters. A Sako 85 in 6,5 × 55 SM with, of course, a Swarovski, allowed to try their hand at the final ranking. For the record, Mr. Riccardo Olivero was awarded the prize offered by the Bonardo armory, consisting of a € 500,00 purchase voucher.
Obviously we too were tempted to fire that single shot, alas ended up a little below the black spot that served as a reference. However, the pleasure of throwing your eye into one of these telescopes is always a lot: among the many qualities of the instruments of the House of Absam we like to highlight the lenses, with a softness of image, if we can say so, that does not never tires the eye.
