La Lombardy region has decided to officially authorize one fox hunting which will concern the territory of the province of Brescia and which will begin shortly, to be precise next June. What is it and why has the local authority given the green light to such a plan? The affected areas are those near the Lake Garda, between the municipalities of Salò, San Felice del Benaco and Valtenesi, up to the morainic hills.
Furthermore, the territory chosen for hunting also includes the area between Iseo and Rudiano. The Region has taken note of the exponential and dangerous growth of foxes, so hunting has been "dusted off" after well eight years since the last time. 60 hunters will be involved, with precise qualifications and proven experience: the shotguns will be coordinated by the Brescia Provincial Police, as usual in these cases.
The killing of the specimens will allow produce more game, reducing at the same time the hunting activity as a whole. However, a precise number of foxes to hunt has not been fixed. Hunters will also have a device at their disposal: in this way the provincial policemen will be able to easily trace their position via smartphone.
