Today's conference
An interesting conference on the protection of biodiversity by the European Parliament took place today hunting world. The event, which saw the participation of MEPs, technicians, associations and institutional representatives, largely highlighted how the population dynamics of species have changed over the last twenty years with respect to the serious loss of biodiversity that has occurred at a European level and of how much more and more management intervention by man is necessary.
Very valid arguments
“The various speakers who followed one another in the various speeches dealt with valid and current arguments, ranging from problems related to large carnivores to the impact of modern agriculture on species, sharing the importance of the fact that, in this new environmental and faunal panorama , the hunter plays an absolutely positive role. As far as Italy is concerned, I repeat that we hunters must go back to being the first protagonists in management and be re-evaluated and reconsidered at a social and institutional level".
A new effort to make
“To achieve this ambitious and necessary goal, however, there is a need for a joint and univocal cultural and legislative effort. The time spent on fine words and good intentions repeated among us hunters does not lead to the desired results: instead it is necessary that the hunting world, the institutions and politics commit themselves to implementing a true cultural revolution, made up of common sense and concreteness and I am happy to give my personal contribution to achieve this goal” said Euro MP Massimo Casanova from Brussels.
